Learn how to cure Crohns disease naturally

Learn how to cure Crohns disease naturally

Today we had the pleasure to chat to David Donovan Brown who against doctors advice for medication, healed himself naturally from crohns disease.
What an inspirational and positive story, showing how imbalances in your body can be cured naturally.
“I was diagnosed with crohns disease in April 2015 but I had been suffering for much longer without a diagnosis.
By the time I was diagnosed I had already started to change my eating and drinking habits. I gave up smoking and consuming alcohol in June 2014 so I was already 10 months into that journey and I had also gone from vegetarian to vegan shortly before that.
In 2014 I was training for the Paris marathon and I started to notice quite drastic weight loss which ultimately lead to my diagnosis.
It turned out that my Ileocecal Valve had developed scar tissue and was almost closed and I couldn’t absorb nutrients effectively. I was also diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and my small and large intestines were covered in ulcers.
I was told that I may need surgery to open the Ileocecal Valve and my specialist recommended that I start a 2 year treatment plan of Immunosuppressants.

What are toxins and how to avoid them

After an influx of new readers (hello you beautiful souls) I thought it would be good to tell you how NWF came about and why we live without toxins and how you can get started on your journey to a purer life free from toxins and find out how to avoid them.

So what’s my story?

Well I will explain how it all started a few years ago. My eldest son James was diagnosed with some kind of autism, ADD and dyspraxia. The doctor was rather vague about this diagnosis and to be honest not very helpful but she was quick to prescribe a ‘cure’ in the shape of Ritalin. I had already read about the effects of Ritalin and other medicines given to children with ADD and ADHD, I knew the outcome wasn’t good all types of side effects including death!

I didn’t want my child on this horrible mind numbing medication but also didn’t want to live with someone who flipped out, had major anger issues, was violent and had no sense of danger. So I did the only thing I could and researched other options, I was surprised how much there was out there to harm our minds and bodies, many of which are in our foods and all have been passed by the food agencies and government as perfectly fine to consume.

I was shocked, outraged and felt overwhelmed by it all. I spent hours, days and weeks on the internet, reading books and researching all the different chemicals, additives, toxins, preservatives, E numbers, MSG, dairy, gluten, colours, flavourings, fillers, caffeine and much more.

Detox foot soak recipe

I love learning new things and I haven’t ever really done much with my feet until I went to a retreat and a lady gave me an amazing peppermint and salt foot scrub and massage. I learned to love my feet and am grateful for all the hard work they do on a daily basis, helping me to get around, supporting my body and taking me to new places, aren’t feet amazing!

I was looking for some new ideas to pamper my feet and I came across this lovely detox recipe by Wellness Mama, I am going to try this tonight, I treated myself last week to some amazing clay from Nurturing Soul an independent maker who lives in Scotland with her lovely family in glorious natural surroundings.

Post below taken from Wellness Mama:

I’m a big fan of healing clays. I put them in my own bath and in my children’s bath water. I use them on my face as a face mask and my armpits to help detox and avoid odor.

Another way I love to use them that is much easier than a full bath is a foot detox. This provides many of the benefits as a clay or salt bath without the mess and extra work.

Pamper your feet…

Our feet are a hard working part of our body. Whether we are walking, chasing kids, working at a standing desk, wearing high heels, cooking, or any other daily activity, our feet take a beating.

This is the reason a foot massage or pedicure is so relaxing. Our feet often hold more stress that we realize and relaxing our feet is a great way to help relax the whole body. Even just a regular foot soak in hot water with epsom salt is relaxing, but I’ve found that adding a few additional ingredients can increase the relaxation and health benefits.

I love to add Bentonite Clay which is beneficial to the body in several ways:

Bentonite Clay is a unique clay due to its ability to produce an “electrical charge” when hydrated. Upon contact with fluid, its electrical components change, giving it the ability to absorb toxins. Bentonite is known for its ability to absorb and remove toxins, heavy metals, impurities, and chemicals.

Bentonite is a swelling clay. When it becomes mixed with water it rapidly swells open like a highly porous sponge. From here the toxins are drawn into the sponge through electrical attraction and once there, they are bound.”

Bentonite clay carries a strong negative charge which bonds to the positive charge in many toxins. When it comes in contact with a toxin, chemical, or heavy metal, the clay will absorb the toxin and release it’s minerals for the body to use. Bentonite also helps get oxygen to cells as it pulls excess hydrogen and allows the cells to replace it with oxygen instead.

I’ve found that my favorite combination for a soothing detox foot soak is bentonite and epsom salts, but I have an unusual way of making the foot soak…

You’ll Need:

A DIY Detox Foot Soak:

To get the most benefits from the clay and the epsom salts, I found an unusual way to start this bath. I began by mixing 1/2 cup of epsom salt into the water for a foot soak. I use a tub like this one, but even a three- dollar dishpan or a bucket will work just fine.

I dissolve the epsom salt in hot (but not boiling) water and set it on a towel.

Then, I mix 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in a bowl. Then, I add a little water to thin, if needed. I coat my feet in this mixture and let it dry for 10 minutes.

By this time, the water has cooled enough to put my feet in and the bentonite has dried. I add 10 drops of essential oils to the water at this point if I want to. When I put my feet in the tub, the hardened clay dissolves slowly and the benefits of the epsom salts take effect.

I continue to soak for about 15 minutes before gently scrubbing my feet with a natural brush.

I rinse my feet and pat them dry. Typically, I do this before bed since it is really relaxing, but it could be done anytime.

Foot Soak Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons bentonite clay
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
water to thin mixture (if needed)
  • 1/2 cup epsom salt
  • 6 quarts of hot water (or enough to fill your container)
  • A few drops of essential oils(optional)

Detox and cleansing juicing recipes

Detoxing allows your body to rid itself of toxins that have accumulated in many forms, preservatives, colours, additives, heavy metals and chemicals we have been exposed to at home, work or outdoors. Also allergens in food and the environment, medicinal drugs and body products all add to the amount of toxins in our bodies, no wonder sometimes our systems can’t cope if we are run down, our poor bodies have to fight infection or illness on top of filtering out the junk and toxic overload.

A detox may last 6-12 weeks or you can do a quick cleanse for 3+ days, your body will thank you for the benefits no matter how long you do it for.

January detox honesty special

Day 1 of bettering my health. (detox starts here)

We are ovo-vegetarians, no meat/fish, we eat our chickens eggs and honey from the allotment. No dairy, ( although when we stayed in a hotel we ate croissants for breakfast, so yummy but so wrong)

We used to be no gluten too but that slipped, (we love pastry and bread too much, sometimes make our own gluten free bread but this depends on being organised and having enough eggs and making puffed pastry from gluten free flour is almost impossible)

We have no toxic chemicals in our house or in our body/bath products ( we are really strict about this and have travelled miles for a decent bar of soap) we have come a long way in 5 years, stopping smoking, no drinking alcohol, no caffeine but we have gone no further. We have talked about how tried we feel and how Tom has aches and is cold a lot of the time, I have a bad lower back and hold onto weight around my middle. We realised we need to move up to the next level of health and wellbeing or its going to be a slippery slope of danish pastries and slobbing in front of the TV.
