How to enjoy life

How to enjoy life, a basic guide written especially for you.

www.nakedwildandfree.comBe grateful;

Gratitude is the biggest part of a life well lived. We need to be grateful for all the things we have now and stop living in a mind of lack or thinking when I am rich/have a bigger house/fall in love etc I will be happy and grateful.

When I wake up in the morning I am thankful I am alive, I am grateful I am breathing – how amazing are our lungs!. I am grateful for the warm bed and cosy blankets that have supported me all night, think of all the homeless people who last night slept outside in the cold. I am grateful for my feet and legs which take me to the bathroom, imagine how many amputees would give anything to walk again with ease!. I am grateful for my bladder that is has held my urine all night, think of all the folks who are incontinent. I am grateful for the awesome plumbing and toilet I am using, how miraculous that we have indoor toilets that actually flush our waste away. I am grateful for the hot water coming out of a tap, think of all those people who walk miles each day to collect water, or those who have to drink water from puddles and in contaminated rivers. I smile at myself in the mirror and am thankful I love myself, I am grateful for my hair, my face and my freckles that make me different from anyone else, how amazing that every single one of us is totally unique.

All of this gratitude and I haven’t even made it downstairs yet. So there is always something, right now you can be thankful for.

Look around you, what are you grateful for?

Start a gratitude journal and spend a few moments each day listing things you are grateful for. If you write 10 things a day that you are grateful for, that’s 70 things by the end of the week, 3,640 each year, if you did that for 20

years you would have 72,800 things to be grateful for!

You are a miracle

IMG_4170

Seriously, do it now.

Life is amazing, nature is amazing, we are amazing.

Believe that, know it and remind yourself daily how fantastic it is.

Some days feel crappy, some days feel really hard, sometimes life doesn’t seem fair but for everyday you are alive, that is miraculous.

The fact you are born, are alive and are breathing means you are a miracle,

you have had a successful day because you got out of bed, your body is functioning and you are reading this!

Our dream to open a community hub

As Naked Wild and Free we are part of a community interest company called Bohemia Blackpool C.I.C, which also includes The Gathering fields and Elephant creative thinking

Together and separately we have done all sorts of work in and with the community, and last year we was blessed to be awarded funding by the Big Lottery Fund to do an 8 week course with young (under 25) mums to teach them to cook, all about natural living, sewing, knitting, open up their worlds with vision boards, dreaming, yoga and meditation and have a trip to the  farm at The Gathering fields to learn about growing foods and herbs, this went down really well and I am pleased to say one of the mums has totally changed her eating habits, she has ditched her addictions to unhealthy food and has made some massive changes in her life.

We love that we are linked from our deprived Blackpool town to an 288 acre farm in Dolphinholme, where children and adults have the opportunity to get away from the grey buildings and be totally immersed in nature, and learn practical things to change their lives. When the young mums experienced a sound bath for their first time, some of the children fell asleep they were so relaxed and the mums said it felt out of this world!

Planting herb/fairy gardens to take home went down really well, and story time in the yurt for the small ones was exciting. Sharing life stories and having the experience of older mums to talk to about worries and concerns was a brilliant part of the course, and keeping the network of people going to help and inspire is key too.

It is our dream to restore this old Quaker meeting house into an alternative community hub, we believe in living without toxic chemicals, eating clean food that nourishes our bodies and minds, living a purer life and sharing positivity to be the best you can be and encouraging optimum health through talks, food and special events.

Combining this with workshops, theatre productions, cinema evenings, mini festivals, encouraging the local elderly to come and share their stories, holding groups for homeschoolers, parents, children, ethnic minorities and those in our community that feel different for not living in a mainstream way.

We want to open a place where we will welcome community members to come and stay a while, be surrounded by like minded people, eat cleanly and refresh the mind and relax the body, make new friends, get a support network and learn new skills.

It will be unlike any community centres that already exist, we will have a faded elegance decor with twists of a travelling circus, there will be a relaxed bohemian vibe throughout the building. Our ethos is all about eco living, upcycling, reusing, bringing joy and happiness through positivity, growing and learning.

The front room will be dedicated to eating wholesome, vegetarian and dairy free food with squishy sofas, mismatched tables and lots of books, a children’s area with bean bags and wooden toys. There will also be a juice bar serving smoothies, juices and raw foods. This will be Blackpool’s only dedicated vegan/vegetarian, dairy free, fairtrade, organic eatery. With gluten free options available too. The nearest one similar is 30 miles away.

The hall will house many projects including workshop space, mini festivals, vegan fairs, craft projects, farmers markets, art gallery evenings for local artists, yoga, meditation, dancing, sound baths and much more plus having a rentable space for other community groups to use. There will be a stage area for performers to come along and share their talents plus we can put on special evening events in this area too.

Sometimes the hall will be transformed into a cinema showing documentaries and wellbeing films. It will be a great educational space too for homeschool groups and other community projects to use.

The garden is perfect for us growing organic foods, for teaching the community how to grow your own too.

This project is needed in Blackpool as it will educate, socialise and bring together community minorities who have no other place they feel they can go in a safe and homely environment. It is also needed to educate people in eating healthily and on a budget as Blackpool has some very deprived areas. We can teach skills in growing veg, crafts, arts, cooking, eating well, juicing, foraging, meditation, alternative therapies, sewing, composting, keeping chickens, self employment, PR and marketing, blogging and social networking, nutrition, eco parenting and many more.

After putting out a survey to local people our findings showed that there was a lack of communal space where people could meet up, eat, talk, share stories and meet like-minded people who didn’t serve alcohol. Also cafes ect close at 5pm and the only other establishments to meet up in are nightclubs, pubs and fast food outlets. Health conscious non drinkers don’t want to go to these places.
There is a lack of a wholesome venue that teens can feel safe in.
There is no venue specifically for vegans/vegetarians/gluten free/organic eating in the fylde coast. Over 60% surveyed said they would like an organic venue.
59% said they would like to see mini festivals, small concerts and workshops available to all ages.
Positivity and healthy living are the subjects people are most interested in.
There is a lack of friendly, safe places for mums with children that are not play areas to meet and make new friends.

We can’t wait for this dream to come true so we can help and serve more of our diverse and wonderful community and give something to Blackpool that it has never seen before.

Learn how to cure Crohns disease naturally

Learn how to cure Crohns disease naturally

Today we had the pleasure to chat to David Donovan Brown who against doctors advice for medication, healed himself naturally from crohns disease.
What an inspirational and positive story, showing how imbalances in your body can be cured naturally.
“I was diagnosed with crohns disease in April 2015 but I had been suffering for much longer without a diagnosis.
By the time I was diagnosed I had already started to change my eating and drinking habits. I gave up smoking and consuming alcohol in June 2014 so I was already 10 months into that journey and I had also gone from vegetarian to vegan shortly before that.
In 2014 I was training for the Paris marathon and I started to notice quite drastic weight loss which ultimately lead to my diagnosis.
It turned out that my Ileocecal Valve had developed scar tissue and was almost closed and I couldn’t absorb nutrients effectively. I was also diagnosed with Pernicious Anaemia and my small and large intestines were covered in ulcers.
I was told that I may need surgery to open the Ileocecal Valve and my specialist recommended that I start a 2 year treatment plan of Immunosuppressants.

Conscious Camp 2016

Feeling so grateful and full of love. I have just returned from Conscious camp.

First time camping at this amazing gathering of beautiful souls in Wales we had fun, dancing, bathing and swimming in the river, going to awesome workshops, attending yoga each morning at 8am, listening to inspiring talks, eating amazing vegan food and having a profound heart opening experience.

It was 4 days of bliss, being with like minded people, no alcohol, no smoking, no stinky perfume, just free, natural beings who smile. I could of easily lived there, the river was lovely but pretty cold, we bathed in it and washed our hair, had deep chats whilst fish swam by us. The vegan food was so tasty and it was lovely not to cook and not to worry what am I going to eat because I knew it was all lovely food. Stories and songs around the fire at night, chanting and a lovely way to make each single person feel special. We sang to each person “Ruby (or their name) we love you, deep down in our soul, Ruby we love you deep down in our soul, deep down, deep down, deep down in our soul” the feeling of love, friendship and gratitude was palpable. Not having to do anything you didn’t want and knowing you are provided for and cared for was a beautiful experience.

I didn’t miss facebook at all and felt less stressed and my back muscles didn’t ache at all. I didn’t sleep well at night, I was really cold despite a sleeping bag, blanket, pj’s, hat and onsie! But what I did love was waking up naturally to the birdsong and sound of the river, rather then squarking chickens, whinging dogs and traffic noises. I can’t wait to live in the countryside and breathe in the pure air and be surrounded by lush green fields.

Balance your chakras with food

This is really interesting and something I hadn’t thought of before, recharging your main chakras with food, but it really makes sense when you think about it, I found this on Soul and Spirit magazine today and thought I would share the article on here:

Did you know that you can recharge your main chakras with food? Here’s what you should be tucking into to balance those vibrations…

1. Root chakra

Located at the perineum at the base of your spine, your root chakra is closest to the earth. Its function is concerned with earthly grounding and physical survival, and is linked to your legs, feet, bones and large intestine. It also controls your ‘fight or flight’ response. To give it a boost, opt for grounding root vegetables such as beetroot, carrot, garlic, ginger, turnips, potatoes and parsnips to bring you back to Mother Nature.

STOP living in fear.

Stop living in fear.

Send out peace and love. Not just to one country but to all countries, not to one type of people but to all people, not to favour one religion but to all religions, not to who is right or wrong, not to who is poor or rich but to everyone no matter what their circumstances. There are many bad things happening everyday all over the planet, the media only seem to report on the ones they choose to, the ones that have a hidden agenda, we are all humans, we are all living in this world, not matter what colour our skin, no matter where in the world we live, no matter what language we speak, no matter how we die or what or who killed us, we all have families, mums, dads, brothers, sisters, children that will miss us. If everyone put down their weapons, if everyone woke up tomorrow and agreed to love and help each other, war wouldn’t exist. The greed, the governments and the elite few who want us to be puppets and hate, are the only ones gaining from these disasters and war.

A to Z of natural living. Letter B.

Hey lovely people, I thought it would be a great idea to do an A to Z of natural living, including remedies, ailments, healthy tips and idea, alternative therapies etc, I think this could be fun and I want you to feel free to add your own in the comments.

Today I bring you the letter B.

Backache:

Backache affects so many people now, from sitting in offices most of the day to car journeys, sitting down a lot can increase the lack of moveable muscles in the back and the core is not properly supported. Not being aligned properly, having one leg shorter than the other, throwing you out of balance or an injury can cause back ache too. Sometimes stress and inflammation can make the problem worse. Ageing:
Aging affects us all from the time we hit adulthood until we die, but we have a choice over how we age. I think aging is beautiful and so are the lines on someones face that map their lives to the world, but sometimes its nice to slow down the process a little. There are many things you can do without going to drastic lengths like botox or plastic surgery. I mean who seriously wants botulinum toxin pumped into their face, the warning on the box says ” may cause serious side effects that can be life threatening”, the main reactions that have been reported are itching, rash, red itchy welts, breathing difficulties. – nice, that will improve your glowing skin!
